Founders, Anna and Don De Sanctis believe that the development of the Barbering qualification is a major breakthrough for the barbering industry and hairdressing as a whole.
As business owners of South Australia's award-winning Barber chain, Barber Boys, Anna and Don together with industry experts developed their own non-accredited training sessions that were provided out of hours to their staff to exceed the industry expectation.
The non-accredited training was developed to skill barbers in the craft of barbering as the woman’s hairdressing qualification did not suitably cover the skills required for barbering. This private training specialised in the barbering skillset and techniques, enabled staff members to constantly provide high quality barber services in all the Barber Boys stores and to successfully compete at hair competitions in open Men's categories across the globe.
In response to the demand for barber services the long-anticipated Barbering qualification was endorsed by the Australian Industry and Skills Committee. The SHB30516 Certificate III in Barbering is now a nationally recognised qualification. The progression and development of the barbering industry now provides the opportunity for students who want to join the Barbering movement and develop the necessary nationally recognised skills that can last you a life time and take you worldwide.
Together with Don's industry experience as a Master Barber and Anna's experience within the Public Sector they have created an environment that cultivates this niche market, sharing each students passion for an ever expanding culture by creating Barbery the Craft of a Barber Academy where the Master hands his craft.
